This Utah player did everything right—ran hard, beat the defenders, and was inches from the touchdown.
But he dropped the ball before crossing the line.
So close… yet not finished.
That’s a picture of faith sometimes.
God gives us a promise.
We run with it.
We wait.
We endure.
And right when we’re almost there—discouragement, impatience, or doubt tempts us to loosen our grip.
Abraham and Sarah waited years for the promise of Isaac.
The wait was long.
The odds looked impossible.
But God was faithful.
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?” (Genesis 18:14)
Don’t drop the promise before it’s fulfilled.
Don’t stop trusting when you’re almost there.
Keep running. Keep believing. Keep holding on.
So close isn’t finished—don’t drop the ball.
God always finishes what He promises.
Prayer:
Lord, help us hold tightly to what You have promised. When we’re tired, tempted to quit, or think we’re close enough—give us strength to keep running in faith. We trust You to carry us all the way to fulfillment. Amen.
