Scripture: “I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” —Psalm 121:1-2
Sometimes God surprises us with the sweetest reminders that He sees, He cares, and He knows exactly who to place in our path at just the right time.
Yesterday, I experienced what I can only call a divine reconnection. A friend I hadn’t heard from in a long time called me out of the blue. When I saw her name appear on my phone, I thought, “I wonder why she’s calling?” I had no idea what God had orchestrated behind the scenes.
She began by saying, “Oh, you still have me in your phone!” I smiled and told her, “Of course I do.” Then she shared how she’d been struggling with her washing machine—something she’d never dealt with before. Feeling overwhelmed and unsure who to trust, she prayed on her way to Bible study, asking the Lord to help her. Then, as only God can do, He answered her prayer through a song.
Alan Jackson’s “Are You Washed in the Blood?” began to play, and in that moment, she felt God whisper to her heart, “Call Debbie Norred—you have her number.” (My husband and I own an appliance service company).
She obeyed.
And that’s when God connected two hearts again—one needing help, the other available to serve.
As she shared the story of her prayer and the song, I felt goosebumps race from my neck to my toes. It was one of those undeniable moments where heaven brushes earth, and you just know—God is right there in the middle of it.
We both rejoiced, not just over a washer repair, but over the real message: that we are washed in the blood of Jesus, and because of that, we can freely come to our Father for help—whether it’s something big or small, spiritual or practical. He cares about it all.
That day, Psalm 121 came alive for me:
“My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.”
God used a washing machine and an old gospel song to remind two women that He is still in the business of divine appointments. Nothing is too ordinary for Him to use—He can turn a broken washer into a testimony of His faithfulness and love.![]()
Maybe today, you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or even disconnected. Lift up your eyes. Your help for those mountain of problems around you—comes from the Lord, who never slumbers, never forgets, and always finds a way to reconnect hearts for His glory.

Reflection Prayer:
Father, thank You for caring about every detail of our lives. Thank You for the divine reconnections You orchestrate—those holy moments that remind us You see us and You love us. Help us to reconnect with you (The Divine One) on a daily basis and recognize Your voice, respond in obedience, and rejoice in Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, amen.
