“Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord Himself, is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation.”
— Isaiah 12:2
The word surely means confidently, certainly, without doubt.
What a beautiful word to describe the grace and mercy of God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
We live in a world filled with uncertainty. People fail us. Feelings change. Circumstances shift. One day things seem secure and the next day everything feels shaken.
But there is one thing that is absolutely sure:
God’s mercy toward repentant sinners.
When we come to Jesus with humble hearts, confessing our sins and placing our faith in Him, we do not have to wonder if He will receive us.
Surely He will.
The cross of Christ settled that forever.
Romans 10:13 says:
“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Not might be saved.
Not could possibly be saved.
But will be saved.
That is the certainty of God’s grace.
Sometimes the enemy whispers lies to us after we fail. He tells us we have sinned too much, wandered too far, or disappointed God too greatly.
Yet God’s Word says:
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
— 1 John 1:9
Faithful.
Sure.
Certain.
Jesus did not die on the cross so we could live wondering if we are loved. He came so we could know salvation, know forgiveness, and know the Father.
The empty tomb declares that God’s mercy is greater than our sins.
So today, if your heart feels heavy with regret, shame, fear, or failure, run to Jesus—not away from Him.
His arms are still open.
Surely His grace is enough.
Surely His mercy still flows.
Surely His blood still saves.
Surely God is our salvation.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the sure promise of salvation through Your Son Jesus Christ. Thank You that Your mercy is not uncertain or fragile, but faithful and everlasting. Help us to repent quickly, trust fully, and rest confidently in Your grace. Thank You for loving us enough to send Jesus to save us from our sins. In His precious name, amen.
